Description
In an AIML internship, you will collaborate with researchers, engineers, and program/project managers to tackle innovative challenges. You will also receive technical mentorship and guidance that allows you to learn new things every day, gain practical skills, build real world experience, develop a greater understanding of our industry, and form valuable connections. Together, you and your team will partner to design and implement an innovative solution for a Machine Learning problem that is meaningful. At the end of your internship, you will have the opportunity to meet and present your work to AIML leadership. Where appropriate, you will have the opportunity to submit your work for publication at a suitable conference. We are offering a research internship opportunity to work directly with our research team in Copenhagen, Denmark on topics related (but not limited) to language processing, speech processing and cognitive science. The internship topic can be fitted to the candidate’s interests, with example internship topics spanning e.g. self-supervised learning, cross-lingual and multilingual processing, multimodal learning, interpretability, LLMs, etc
Minimum Qualifications
- Working toward a doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, data science, applied mathematics, cognitive science or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge in deep learning (DL) and statistical machine learning (ML)
- Research experience in Machine Learning, Language and Speech Processing, Cognitive Science and/or Computational Linguistics.
- Interest in Speech and Language Processing
Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong demonstrable record of publishing academic research in Machine Learning related peer-reviewed venues, including language-specific ones (e.g. *ACL, Interspeech)
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Experience with ML libraries, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch and Sklearn
- Able to deliver ML technologies aligned with the core values of Apple, ensuring the highest standards of quality, scientific rigour, innovation, and respect for user privacy
