Intern, Energy Transition Fund (Copenhagen)

Do you want to join a global leader in renewable energy infrastructure investments? If so, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners is the right place for you. We are looking for ambitious Interns to join the Investment Team for the Energy Transition Fund in Copenhagen from September till December 2025.

The Team
The Energy Transition Fund (ETF) invests in next generation renewable energy infrastructure including industrial scale Power-to-X (PtX) projects and enables institutional investors to participate in the decarbonization of the so-called hard to abate industries such as shipping, steel production, and agriculture through the use of green fuels and feedstock and CO2-free fertilizers.

The fund will primarily focus on greenfield projects in Western Europe, North America, Australia and developed Asian countries. CI ETF I reached final close on EUR 3bn in August 2022 and is the largest dedicated clean hydrogen fund globally.

We will constantly seek to inspire you, while focusing on your learning and personal development. Working with our skilled team members, you will build a solid commercial and contractual understanding of renewable energy infrastructure projects and how they are financed.

The Role
The role is full-time, paid and based in our office in Nordhavn, Copenhagen. The internship duration is expected to be from September till December 2025.

As an Intern, you will contribute to the development, structuring and execution of CIP’s next generation renewable energy infrastructure investments with a focus on Power-to-X assets, which produce carbon-neutral hydrogen and ammonia.

You will be working closely with a highly seasoned investment team in a dynamic environment and have opportunity to support across the entire deal lifecycle, from development of an investment thesis through development, construction, and exit.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Financial modelling, valuation, and structuring of investments
  • Market analysis and due diligence of new investment opportunities
  • Visualization and presentation of technical and financial data to stakeholders
  • Working together with industrial partners and advisors

You
CIP is looking for end of Bachelor’s and Master’s students in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Sustainability, Business Administration, and adjacent relevant fields to renewable energy investing.

Key qualifications:

  • Top academic performance and strong analytical skills
  • Team player with excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Interest in corporate finance, strategy, and M&A
  • Curious and creative mindset with an ability to work independently
  • Strong work-ethic with a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Experience in Excel and PowerPoint
  • A positive attitude and a strong desire to work in a growing organization with a lot of responsibility and ability to shape your own working day
  • Please note that you need to be based in Copenhagen (or be willing to relocate here), have a valid work permit and be enrolled in a university to be eligible for this role
