Copenhagen Business School invites applications for a post-doc within the field of social and political sciences on the topic of challenges of European integration for the Nordic countries. The three-year post-doc (research and teaching) is part of the Nordforsk-financed ReNEW network of excellence, which focuses on research about the Nordic region, in the context of grand challenges. This post-doc is envisaged to work within the themes public policy, gender equality and labour markets, and/or democracy, governance and law. CBS is in the process of employing six junior researchers (PhD and post-docs) who will be affiliated with the cross-disciplinary ReNEW network. ReNEW post-docs are introduced to a vibrant research community with many possibilities for workshop and conference participation. Read more about the 2019 conference here. The ReNEW post-doc also offers possibilities to stay abroad at other Nordic universities participating in the network of excellence, or the strategic ReNEW partners, such as the European University Institute.

The post-doc is a non-tenured position for a three-year period, which entails two years of research obligation and one year of teaching. The post-doc will be affiliated with the Department of International Economics, Government and Business, which brings together the study of states, markets, and international firms in the context of the challenges faced by emerging and advanced economies. To fulfill the research requirements of the position, the applicant chosen is expected to be physically present on a regular basis and actively participate in the teaching and research activities of the department.

Teaching responsibilities comprise undergraduate, graduate and doctoral teaching. Teaching will be determined on the basis of the candiate’s profile. It could, for example, be in the International Business and Politics (BSc and MSc), European Business (BSc), and Business Administration and Sociology (BSc) programmes.

The applicant must hold a PhD or the equivalent. In assessing applications, particular emphasis will be placed on research potential of the candidate. Emphasis is placed on research relevant to the job description. The applicant must have professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).

Appointment and salary will be in accordance with the Ministry of Finance’s agreement with the Central Academic Organisation.

    • A summary of the candidate’s main strengthens and abilities.
    • A five page project proposal (excl. bibliography) concerning research plans the next three years.
    • A complete, numbered list of publications (indicating titles, co-authors, page numbers and year) with an * marking of the academic productions to be considered during the review. A maximum of 5 publications for review are allowed. Applicants are requested to prioritise their publications in relation to the field of this job advertisement.
    • Copies of the publications marked with an *. Only publications written in English (or another specified principal language, according to research tradition) or one of the Scandinavian languages will be taken into consideration)
    • Information indicating experience in research management, industry co-operation and international co-operation.
    • Documentation of relevant, significant, original research at an international level.
    • Transcript(s) and a full CV

    Recruitment procedure
    The Recruitment Committee will shortlist minimum two applicants; when possible five or more applicants will be shortlisted. The shortlisted applicants will be assessed by an Assessment Committee. All applicants will be notified of their status in the recruitment process shortly after the application deadline.

    The applicants selected for assessment will be notified about the composition of the Assessment Committee and later in the process about the result of the assessment.

    Once the recruitment process is completed each applicant will be notified of the outcome of their application.
