The working hours are 37 hours a week and will be mainly lab based but also giving you the opportunity to learn project and communication skills. It is an opportunity for a unique learning experience and a chance to turn theories into practice.

About the department

You get the opportunity to join a high performing team in Novo Nordisk Pharmatech in Køge, Denmark, developing and supplying novel materials for the purification of therapeutic proteins at Novo Nordisk and our client‘s patients. We work in close collaboration with our customers to develop optimal purification solutions for new and existing molecules used for the treatment of many different conditions.

We are an ambitious team with an informal and inquisitive atmosphere but still make time for enjoying our work.

The position

Your key responsibilities will be method development of a test procedure for measurement of the mechanical strength of silica gels used for chromatography, and recording and reporting your scientific work. You will start out by testing different possibilities for test procedures. You will help to further develop a method that can distinguish between the mechanical stabilities of different silica gels and ultimately chose the most suitable test procedure. You will work, record and report your scientific work within our quality systems and share your learnings with the team.

  • Internship period: 6 months
  • Working hours: Flexible (min. 18 and max. 37 hours a week)
  • Start date: 1 February 2019
  • Internships are remunerated, if your educational track allows
  • A Danish full time work permit is required


Requirement: Students currently in their Master’s studies.

We are looking for a Master’s student in Process Engineering or other closely related topic and you have experience with laboratory work and academic project work.

You are a strong team player with an innovative mind-set focusing on possibilities and not limitations and have a strong personal drive. You are conscious of working safely in the lab. You have experience of using IT and scientific equipment and have understanding of scientific literature. You are dynamic and flexible and good at trouble-shooting.
