It is one of the most promising technologies for the next generation of wireless communication networks. The research topics considered during the PhD projects are mostly based on signal processing techniques. They include but not limited to: a) distributed architectures, Cloud-RAN, b) Beamforming design, c) Massive MIMO for ultra-reliable communications.

The project is funded by The Danish Council for Independent Research. It will take place at the Connectivity (CNT) section, Department of Electronic Systems, Aalborg University.

The successful applicant must have a Master degree in statistical signal processing, wireless communications, machine learning, applied statistics or similar. The applicant is expected to have a very strong mathematical background. Furthermore, knowledge of radio channel characterization is an advantage. Excellent undergraduate and master degree grades are expected. A high level of written and spoken English is also expected

You may obtain further information from Professor MSO Elisabeth de Carvalho (email: edc@es.aau.dk ), Department of Electronic Systems, concerning the scientific aspects of the stipend.
