Hempel Group’s world-leading R&D unit, Technology & Innovation, is looking for a Technology Specialist who will drive future business developments in research projects, and leave their mark on both business and industry as new technologies are developed and launched in our products.

Lead development of future technologies!
As technology specialist you will be responsible for the technology contribution to the projects during the critical Proof of Concept and feasibility phases, where you show ownership and have the opportunity to demonstrate the viability and opportunities of the technologies you help develop. you will also be responsible for managing research projects, and drive collaborations with external partners, such as business partners, universities and students.

In this role, you will have the following tasks:

  • Prepare the required documentation from the projects, and execute on the laboratory work required for the experiments.
  • Involve customers and other partners during the development of the given technologies.
  • Present findings and make business cases for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Locate and engage with the right partners to collaborate on the given technologies, as well as ensuring a constructive and effective relationship with these.
  • Develop new ideas, and be in the forefront on what is being developed in some specific areas, with the intend of proposing cutting edge technologies for development.

Hempel Group has the privilege of having a great team of international scientists in our world-leading Technology & Innovation department, who have had great careers within research, and a long track record within developing technologies into feasible business ideas.

To become part of this team, we expect that you have the following background:

  • PhD degree in materials science or similar (physics, mathematics, chemistry).
  • Experience with electrochemistry, big data and electrical circuit printing techniques.
  • Self-driven person, with the ability to move the projects at a high pace and level of curiosity.
  • Experience in working in consortium collaborations is highly appreciated.
  • Good project management skills and ability to lead collaborations with external partners.
  • Ability to use searching tools within Academia and patent databases.

We are currently building a brand new R&D centre at our HQ outside Copenhagen, with more than 6.000 square meters of brand new research facilities, and we are not saving on expenses.
