In this challenging but exciting project, you will be working with different fields within our football projects in our company, TrackMan, where the primary goal of the project is to quantify the movement of the leg and foot of player during a kick.
In our golf products, we have due to extensive research been able to develop algorithms that provide the user with club data, delivering information to the user on how the ball was impacted the club through parameters such as attack angle, direction and speed. These parameters are highly useful for a golf player to help evaluate each shot, and we believe similar data parameters would be very useful to incorporate in our newly developed football product.
You will be working with our state-of-the-art radar- and vision-technology in combination with mathematical modelling of a football kick, where the goal is to measure the leg and foot behaviour in order to model the player's movement, and essentially provide actionable data about the kicking performance.
The project could include amongst others; test design and collection of data using our measurement equipment, data analysis of the measured data, literature studies and the development of an impact model.
The project is ambitious, and the scope will at first be restricted to free kicks in football, but if there is time, it is possible to expand the project to other situations such as corner kicks and goal keeper distribution kicks. Even other sports such as American football are possible depending on your interests.
Prerequisites
- You are ambitious and not afraid of a challenging project.
- You have experience with mathematical modelling.
- You have knowledge with either signal processing or computer vision techniques, preferably both.
