Your mission
Your focus will be on incorporating insights from UX, usability and design into ongoing work with headphones and earphones. Your skills will come into play on a daily basis as you support multidisciplinary project teams in our day-to-day activities. We imagine you will spend most of the time during your stay on maturing our UX Comfort & Fit framework, ensuring it delivers relevant information to cross-disciplinary colleagues and stakeholders.

Your work will bridge insights from user studies with work being done by multidisciplinary project teams to create delightful interactions with our products, primarily by:

  • Extending our existing methodology for assessing the comfort and fit of our products and identifying opportunities for integrating it with other benchmarking efforts used by the UX team
  • Proactively running studies intended to understand user behaviour and attitudes across contexts of use
  • Collecting and analysing user data using a mixed methods approach
  • Making data-driven design recommendations
  • Effectively communicating results and illustrating suggestions to cross-disciplinary colleagues

Your network
As our new UX research intern, you join a cross disciplinary team which brings together UX professionals from different disciplines who work together to ensure magical, luxurious experiences for users. User-centred research is the foundation of everything we do. Jumping in with both feet from day one, you become a supporting contributor to our work – and will work closely with our UX researcher and product teams to ensure our wearables are as natural and delightful as possible. Also, you will have a mentor from day one, making sure you will gain a deep understanding of and insight into your field.

Your internship
Based in Struer, we offer to provide accommodation in town during the internship so you can socialise with other students working at Bang & Olufsen. The position is an internship for the 2020 spring semester (flexible start date) and lasts one semester. You must be a current student to be considered. We are happy to accept a thesis project in this role.

What you bring
We are looking for a MSc student within engineering psychology, interaction design, product design, service design, behavioural studies or a similar cross-disciplinary field which allows you to bridge human factors with design recommendations. In fact, curiosity and exploration are your motivating qualities, and you also understand the benefit of collective contribution and work to elevate your team. Moreover, you bring:

  • Experience conducting user tests or experiments using qualitative and quantitative methodologies
  • Working knowledge of R and Excel
  • Great communication skills in English
  • The ability to deliver on your commitments
