Intern in Materials department
Are you studying within the field of engineering and are you interested in the complex interaction between the components of plastic?
And are you keen on taking part in the journey of replacing plastic by Sustainable material?

You will be part of various projects or activities in the Materials department.

Projects will be in the field of polymers, colours, decoration inks and eventually development of analytical methods.

Examples of projects:

• Modification of polymers to fit a quality criteria.

• Investigate how polymers age by exposure to the environment (light, heat, sweat or saliva..)

• Identify optimum processing conditions for different types of polymers.

• Optimization of surface treatments and decoration processes.

• Develop methods and/or models within rheology, friction or creep.

• Develop analytical tools for optimizing screening of sustainable materials, e.g. temperature and frequency accelerated creep models using Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA).

The primary aim of the department is to secure the right materials, fulfilling every demand on the immediate and the long term, in order to guarantee business continuity.
The scope has a time horizon of 0-15 years.

Materials are the matter of which the products are made (polymers, colours, inks, metals), and therefore materials are important for the entire organization.

One focus area is to collect and interpret the complex information from the chemical industry, the scientific world and changing technical requirements in TLG with respect to production and product design.

The department also has to translate trends in consumer markets, regulation and sustainability into technical scope. Decisions about materials are based on these complex sets of information, rules and dependencies.

Do you have what it takes?
The internship is an integrated part in more educations within natural sciences and engineering. It is therefore required that the intern is part of a relevant education.

The intern must have passed required examns to qualify for the intern part of the education.

• You are a team-player

• You are comfortable in presenting and reporting to a scientific audience.

• You speak and write english at an Intermediate level
