And do you enjoy working in an open, dynamic and social atmosphere with a strong focus on technical and scientific skills? If so, you have the opportunity to play a key role in department CMC Analytical Support, team Biophysical Analysis in Måløv, Copenhagen.

About the department
The Department CMC Analytical Support is part of CMC Drug Product (DP) development in R&D Novo Nordisk A/S. The department is organised into four highly skilled analytical teams with approximately 70 employees. The department is responsible for developing analytical methods, validation, documentation, characterisation and delivering analytical results for new drug substance, drug product and side chains as well as for raw materials, excipients and various process related residues and leachables.

Providing analytical support to all parts of Novo Nordisk, the department acts as a link between the research unit and the production, spanning from early development to phase 3 clinical trials and registration. Together we represent many years of scientific experience enabling us to innovate and solve exciting and challenging tasks.

The Job
You will be part of the Biophysical Analysis team and your main responsibility will be to develop and use biophysical analytical methods in order to support the development of next generation drug substance and drug products. Together with our skilled technicians you will be responsible for planning and coordinating experiments in the laboratory and you will be the responsible analytical person in selected projects. Therefore, you will naturally have a close collaboration with many scientists and technicians both inside and outside of the department. Finally, together with your colleagues you will contribute to the on-going optimization, automation and digitalisation of processes and systems.

Preferably, you hold a PHD within Life Sciences (Pharmacy, Engineering or other relevant discipline) combined with good knowledge of general protein chemistry, and understanding of pharmaceutical drug product development processes. You have a natural flair for thinking in new solutions and automation and it is an advantage if you also have programming and mathematic modelling skills. Central to the position is that you can document practical experience with biophysical characterisation of peptides and/or proteins in solution. We expect that you hold some of the below listed qualifications:

  • Solid scientific knowledge and practical experience with higher order structure characterisation using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)
  • Experience with scattering techniques, e.g. static/dynamic light scattering (SLS/DLS) and small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS)
  • Experience with calorimetry e.g. differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC), in addition to ITC for characterisation of binding/interactions, experience with surface plasmon resonance (SPR) is also advantageous.
  • Experience with particle characterisation techniques for quantification and characterisation of subvisible and nano-particles (f.ex. Flow imaging)
  • Experience with various aspects of spectroscopy e.g. Circular Dichroism (CD), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), fluorescence

On a personal level, you have a positive and flexible mind-set, and thrive in a dynamic and ever-changing project environment.
