Research Assistant / Research Associate, Microbial Fermentation & Recovery Development, RTP
Do you want work in an environment in which creativity and challenging the status quo is as valued as scientific excellence? If so, you could be our new colleague in the Microbial Fermentation and Recovery Development Group, a dynamic team of scientists and researchers located in the RTP area of North Carolina.

You will work within the internal research group, as well as with outside units, to develop advanced and scalable fermentation processes for both existing and novel microbe-based products (i.e. bacteria, fungi and yeast). You will deliver technical results by carrying out experimental protocols to pioneer research and transform it into value-added products for a variety of industries, including agriculture, household care and biofuels.

In this position you need to:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Food science, or related scientific field. An Associate's degree in a related scientific discipline with 2+ years relevant experience or HS diploma with 4+ years relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Be eager to learn new technologies
  • Have ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Demonstrate success with attention to detail and time management
  • Hands-on experience in a research lab is valued but not required
