Postdoc in Advanced 2D Electronic Devices

DTU wish to employ a post-doctoral researcher for 24 months to carry out research in advanced 2D electronic devices.

You will assemble van der Waals heterostructures, fabricate devices and study their electronic properties at room and low temperatures, including ballistic electron optics and bandgap engineered devices utilizing the unique opportunities offered by 2D materials and possibly organic/metalorganic frameworks.

You will work in a friendly team in a stimulating international environment, taking advantage of the expertise in the Centre of Excellence, CNG, and our 1500 m2 state-of-the-art cleanroom facility, DTU Nanolab. The position is shared between the Graphene Flagship and CNG, and involves both fundamental and applied experimental research. The positions offers opportunities for collaborating with top European research groups, as well as leading groups in US, Korea and China.

Required qualifications

  • Candidates should have a PhD degree in physics or equivalent.
  • Cleanroom device fabrication and nanolithography (i.e. EBL).
  • Extensive experience with electron transport measurements at room and cryogenic temperatures
  • Solid theoretical background and knowledge of concepts and methods solid state physics.

Relevant qualifications

  • Experience with assembly of van der Waals heterostructures and 2D device
  • Experience with characterisation techniques for graphene such as Raman spectroscopy, SEM, TEM and AFM
  • Hands-on experience with design and construction of smaller laboratory equipment, i.e. electronics
  • Characterisation of organic and metal-organic frameworks

  • Excellent communication and language skills (English language)
  • Experience with international collaborations and collaborations with industry

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union. The period of employment is 2 years and should start no later than September 1, 2020, depending on the COVID-19 situation.
