The entrepreneurial company Simple, Very Simple sells totally-refurbished scrapped washing machines, dishwashers, dryers, and stoves and thus performs circular economy in practice.

Simple, Very Simple seeks students to develop solutions to monitor the machine performance and remotely update the software to optimize energy consumption and maintenance, and eventually uncover other improvements to the machines that can increase the use value, or enable life extension, eg. 3D print of spare parts. The project should preferably end up in development and testing to investigate the possibility of larger-scale implementation.

The project paves the way to expand Simple, Very Simple's business model with product-as-a-service and a buy-back scheme or to offer other advantages compared to what the manufacturers of white goods offer.
