You can become a part of this fascinating industry – as a Shipbroker Trainee you will train to be the intermediary and trusted advisor of our many different clients in the business.

You will go through a combination of theoretical education and on the job training.

Maersk Broker is present in all shipping segments – Container Vessels, Bulk Carriers, Tankers and Offshore. Based on your skills and personality, you will work in a specific area: Chartering, Sale & Purchase or Newbuilding. You will be part of a dynamic, international team and will learn everything you need to know about shipping in general - and about shipbroking in particular. After completing the traineeship, you will have all the skills that you need in order to be a successful shipbroker.

One of your colleagues in the team will be your mentor and support you throughout your traineeship. • You enjoy working with people and building partnerships
• You have good communication skills and are not intimidated by customers more senior than yourself
• You have a commercial interest and an analytical mindset

We also wish that you:

• Hold a degree or have work experience that may be beneficial for a broking role and a great interest in exploring the world of international shipping
• Have a high proficiency in English, both verbally and in writing
• Are patient enough to build your knowledge and see your work as a learning process

You will get a recognised education
The Shipbroker Trainee Programme takes 2 years and is offered in collaboration with the Danish Shipping Academy through the Commercial Shipping Programme (https://danishshippingacademy.dk/). In addition to the Commercial Shipping Programme, you will be given the best possible theoretical basis through one or more certificate courses from Lloyd's Maritime Academy.
