We are looking for interns who want to work with our campaign groups while helping run and develop a vibrant non-profit café that serves as a focal point for the political environment of Aarhus!

Are you interested in advocating for and defending various political causes and human rights? Are you looking for relevant work experience while contributing to a more just and equal development of our society? Then Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke is the organization for you!

As a part of the tight-knit Aarhus team, you will join an organization with 100 volunteers who do everything from running a café to campaigning – all with the aim of contributing to our overall political goal of fighting inequality. Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke Aarhus is growing at a fast pace, so there is a lot of room for you to have an influence on our activities and organization. Our campaign work is comprised of various groups of volunteers that work with topics such as climate justice, feminism, economic inequality, and anti-discrimination. They organize various ranges of events, demonstrations, activism initiatives, and collaborate with several NGOs both locally and nationally.

Responsibility and tasks during your internship:

  • Develop partnerships with other local, like-minded organizations, grassroots movements, and entrepreneurs.
  • Investigate and research various topics and produce information material, presentations etc. on issues such as human rights, local and national policies, tax evasion and international agreements.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of concrete campaign projects on various levels.

If you have other interests and/or ideas, these can also be included as tasks during your internship. We are always open to new ideas and skills!

What you will get from doing an internship with us:

  • Influence on your work and the possibility to shape your projects with the support of our staff and our volunteers.
  • Training in campaigns, project coordination, PR, and communication.
  • Meet people from various organizations and create a network.
  • A step into the world of NGOs to work with human rights in your future career

We don’t have a specific educational background in mind. What is important is your ability to work professionally and to apply the skills you have, and that you thrive in learning new things. It is a plus if you:

  • Have interest and passion in the world of politics and latest updates
  • Have experience with organizing and coordinating event
  • Have experience with working with volunteers - and know how to motivate them
  • You are a team player and like to work together with other people
  • Have the drive to be part of a social business, and help create proceeds that go to the fight against inequality

We Offer

  • An unpaid internship with 30-37 working hours per week;
