Working across scientific fields is central for ITU and cross-departmental projects are therefore one of the priorities of this year’s Open PhD Call. With this, cross departmental projects must have a principal supervisor and a co-supervisor from 2 different departments at ITU. Another priority of this year’s Open PhD Call, is a green focus (climate, sustainability, environment, etc.) and at least 1 of the stipends will be awarded to a project with such focus. PhD projects with one or both of these focuses (cross-departmental or green focus) are given priority this year. Successful applicants are expected to have an excellent master thesis. It is an advantage if the applicant has relevant academic experience, e.g. by serving as a Teaching Assistant or writing publications. It is understood that even highly qualified applicants will satisfy these requirements to varying degrees, for example because of differences in publication cultures in various research fields.
