Frist 26. februar 2021
At the Department of Environmental Engineering (DTU Environment), we seek a post-doctoral researcher with competency in process modeling and control. The candidate be part of research team that aims to develop and optimized bioelectrochemical reactors for groundwater/drainage water denitrification. With this position we wish to strengthen our focus and strategic position with regards to process modeling and control of biotechnologies for water treatment.
We offer a 2-year position. The candidate will join the Water Technology & Processes section at DTU Environment. Here he/she will be a part of the research group on microbial ecology and technology (METLab group).
Responsibilities and qualifications
The candidate will be responsible for the identification, calibration and validation of process models for bioelectrochemical reactors. Models will support the design of pilot scale units and the development and evaluation of different control strategies.
The candidate must have documented experience in process modeling (e.g., Matlab, Aquasim, WEST), process control and monitoring, as well as experimental investigations both at laboratory and pilot scale. Experience with molecular tools for characterization of microbial communities, monitoring of greenhouse gas emissions, and/or metabolic modeling is an advantage.
The candidate will contribute to our teaching activities in water treatment as well as to the supervision of students from BSc to PhD level. Therefore, previous experience within education is an advantage.
The candidate should have documented experience (ISI publications) in the area of environmental biotechnology, with particular expertise in nitrogen cycle, bioelectrochemistry, microbial process modeling, water treatment and circular bio-economy. The candidate should also have strong aptitude for innovation and technology transfer and strong communication skills with different stakeholders.
