DTU Chemical Engineering seeks a qualified candidate for a PhD position within the field of bioreaction engineering, focused on the development of novel cell-free bioconversions. A particular target of the work is aimed at understanding the stability of such systems in industrial operating conditions. Novel analytical methods and scale-down approaches will be required, linking experimental work to modelling.

Responsibilities and tasks
The position includes normal DTU PhD positions where the work will be carried out primarily at DTU, but also as part of the Sino-Danish Center for Education and Research (SDC).

The candidate for the SDC positions will stay in China for 6-12 months to support our MSc education in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering in SDC and to carry out research at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Knowledge of Danish is highly beneficial for the SDC position and this position cannot be applied for by Chinese citizens.

Qualifications

You must have a two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points)

in chemical or biochemical engineering

or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to a two-year master's degree.

Approval and Enrolment
The scholarship for the PhD degree is subject to academic approval, and the candidate will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes at DTU. For information about our enrolment requirements and the general planning of the PhD study programme, please see the

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
