At DHI GRAS, we connect Earth observations from space with people. We make interactive, responsive, and intuitive web apps to bring ever-growing capabilities of remote sensing to people.

We are an international team of remote sensing experts, data scientists, software devs and project developers.
We deliver information on environment, water, renewable energy, urban development and many more areas of our physical environment to the public and clients all over the world. With efficient and advanced web technologies, we offer our users large amounts of information in the browser. We are expanding our front-end dev capacity and want you to join our team!

DHI GRAS is at the same time a small, agile company, and a global enterprise: We are the space-specialist daughter company of DHI with offices all around the world. We are located at the group’s headquarters in Hørsholm and closely work together with our colleagues in Denmark and abroad to share knowledge, experience and supporting functions.

Responsibilities and challenges
• Become part of a dedicated team of two frontend developers and four backend engineers
• Design and build interactive data-driven web applications using React
• Take care of features and fixes of growing complexity, often with immediate exposure to users
• Be curious and innovative to understand our users’ challenges and explore new methods and technologies
• Write clean and reusable code and strive for best practice and dev-friendliness
• Learn and grow through knowledge exchange and sparring across the team and the global company

Qualifications and personal skills
• You are a student in web development or related
• Fluent in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Enthusiastic about React, knowing frameworks like Vue or Angular is also relevant
• Comfortably using Git and GitHub
• Caring about design with an eye for visual appeal, coherence, and detail
• Curious to work with web map frameworks such as Mapbox GL, OpenLayers or Leaflet
• Comfortable in developing web applications that involve data and APIs
• Good at pro-actively communicating about your work and progress and proficient in English.
• Available at least three days each week (can be less during exams etc). Full-time internship is possible too.
• Excited about this position and able to explain to us why and how your skills and interests are matching it

Advantageous skills
• Knowledge or curiosity of working with geospatial data and maps
• Experience with data visualization libraries such as Plotly.js, Highcharts, or Echarts
• General understanding of asynchronous and functional programming
• Knowledge of static typing
• Flair for light-weight deployment, dev-friendliness, low-maintenance
