The Program Platform Unit, in the Program Division, in Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is looking for a talented intern, with flair for communications, to support our work in helping people affected by forced displacement.

Who we are

The Programme Division develops programmatic concepts and strategies relevant to DRC’s international operations and delivers support to operations within these areas. It also has the lead in developing position papers on DRC’s key advocacy and policy priorities. The Programme Division currently hosts various global specialist lead functions such as MEAL, Protection, Solutions and Economic Recovery & Livelihood amongst others. The Division is furthermore overall responsible for continuously developing and implementing the DRC Response Framework and its Programme Platforms, including the Programme Handbook.

The Program Platform unit is responsible for strengthening the strategic program development, and systematically developing and effectively rolling out the three program platforms: Responding to Emergency, Solutions to Displacement, and Addressing Root Causes to Conflict and Displacement.

Overall objective

We are looking for an intern who will work at DRC headquarters in Copenhagen. The intern will have the opportunity to enable DRC to work more effectively with operationalizing the Response Framework, and specifically support of the roll-out of the three programme platforms. The position will support various projects with internal communication, documentation, information management, and development of guidance, policy, tools and strategy material.

About the internship

The intern will be working alongside other colleagues on matters concerning project management, information and quality management, and analysis communications, branding (visibility). Furthermore, examples of responsibilities include:

INTERNAL COMMUNICATION

    • Strengthen Communication on DRC Response Framework and its three platforms
      1. Develop and maintain SharePoint pages and organise material on Insite
      2. Support relevant reporting and strengthening of communication between HQ and the field
      3. Support with developing guidance and policy material for both internal and external use in the sector
      4. Support with rolling out new platform tools including coordination with the field and providing instructions when needed
      5. Strengthen and further develop DRC TALKS
        1. Plan, execute and disseminate DRC TALKS
        2. Facilitate access to DRC TALKS on relevant platforms e.g. Insite, Web and YouTube
        3. Support the roll-out of global induction material (online)
          1. Help plan and coordinate the global induction programme
          2. Develop and coordinate the evaluation of the induction programme
          3. Facilitate e-learning modules
          4. Support webinars
          5. Strengthen information on programme platforms
            1. Practical support to gathering and disseminating relevant programmatic tools/templates (e.g. Conflict sensitivity).
            2. Logistical/practical support related to relevant programmatic products & processes
            3. Light research on relevant issues and other relevant ad hoc tasks
            4. Support with donor reporting
            5. Supporting with maintaining DRC Insite Donor pages – SharePoint based
            INFORMATION & KNOWELEDGE MANAGEMENT
              DONOR REPORTING AND COMPLIANCE

                There may be additional tasks assigned depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate.

              Basic requirements

              The Intern will be working both individually and together with other DRC colleagues as a team. (S)he should meet the following requirements:

              • Be enlisted at a university for a relevant education (this is a prerequisite for the position);
              • Be fluent in both written and spoken English (knowledge of Danish is an advantage)
              • Good analytical skills
              • Good communication skills (written, IT, SOME)
              • Open, committed, and curious
              • Knowledge of international relations

              Conditions

              Availability: 16 August 2021 – 14 January 2022

              Duration: approximately 5 Months

              Working hours: 37 hours per week

              Salary: Internship (unpaid, lunch scheme is provided – Covid-19 allowing)
