Job Title:
Student Assistant within Remote Sensing and GeoinformaticsAre you eager to apply your Remote Sensing skills? We offer you a versatile and flexible job as student assistant within the geoinformatics domain, within a company of specialized and dedicated colleagues to learn from and grow with.

Responsibilities and challenges

Interest in our Remote Sensing services is growing strongly, and we are looking for a curious and dedicated student to assist on a wide range of activities and projects.

You will be part of a company of about 25 colleagues whose competencies are centred on satellite remote sensing, geoinformatics, and software development.

The main responsibilities and challenges in the job are ad hoc assistance with:

  • Assistance with Remote Sensing analytics tasks
  • Desktop GIS work using QGIS and ArcGIS
  • Acquisition and pre-processing of satellite imagery using cloud processing tools
  • Assistance with preparation of web mapping solutions using GeoServer, Terracotta, cloud-optimized GeoTIFF, cloud storage
  • General ad-hoc consultancy and assistance on production tasks

Qualifications and personal skills

We are looking for a new colleague who will join us and have the following qualifications:

  • Current BSc/MSc education within geoinformatics, geography or similar
  • Solid Python programming skills and interest to develop further
  • Practical experience with analysing raster/image data
  • Solid experience with ArcGIS, QGIS, eCognition, and other geoinformatics tools

Besides the technical skills, it would be beneficial that you:

  • Can work independently and focused
  • Are self-motivated and proactive
  • Are good at communicating about your work and progress
  • Eager to grow your technical skills within Satellite Remote Sensing
  • Curious on latest technologies and data within RS and geoinformatics
