Kickstart your career within event production! Trifork is looking for an intern with a passion for events management to become part of the GOTO Amsterdam conference team with a focus on planning and executing various conference activities and networking events.

GOTO Amsterdam is powered by Trifork Amsterdam. GOTO Amsterdam is part of a group of software development conferences under the GOTO brand that boast inspirational talks, and masterclasses.

GOTO Amsterdam is an annual conference with around 900 attendees, 60 speakers and 25 partners tailored for IT professionals and is dedicated to encouraging an environment of continuous learning and innovation within companies. Each event is organised by developers for developers and invites pioneers, founders and thought leaders from all over the world.

As the successful candidate you’ll be asked to complete a personal development exercise to help you identify your strengths, as well as the areas you want to develop more. Using this as the foundation, we’ll work with you to shape the ideal internship based on a mixture of tasks listed below.

About the Job
Flexible and ambitious internship

GOTO Amsterdam is searching for an independent and motivated intern to work with the GOTO Amsterdam conference team. You’ll work closely with both the local Amsterdam and GOTO Global teams.

This position will allow you to dive into the Tech industry, interact with some of the world’s leading software development experts and grow your event production skills surrounded by a supportive team — both in person and remotely.

You’ll work a 40 hour week and the role includes a mix of remote and office work at the Amsterdam office. You’re also expected to be available during the conference, which takes place June 26-29, 2023.

Primary Responsibilities
Planning and executing social gatherings and physical events.
To keep GOTO active year-round, we invite the Dutch Tech community to inspirational and educational networking meetups in Amsterdam to learn from experts and share knowledge. You’ll be part of the planning, execution and wrap up for these GOTO meetups. Meetups will either take place in house at our Amsterdam office or in collaboration with one of our partners.

Assisting with sales outreach and coordination with conference partners
In relation to activating the Tech community in Amsterdam, you’ll also be assisting with sales outreach and managing the needs and wants of our conference partners.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Overall conference administration tasks, aligning with the conference manager and colleagues on a daily basis
  • Support the project managers to exceed guest experiences
  • Assist in building up our community and promoting GOTO
  • Searching, booking and coordinating with venues and suppliers for different needs
  • We also encourage interns to let us know what they want more experience in across all our departments for a chance to learn new skills and work with different teams!

Who are you?

  • Available to start in the second week of January 2023 for 6 months
  • Ability to work in our office in Amsterdam or willing to move there
  • Eligible to work in The Netherlands (EU passport or work permit)
  • Studying or graduating from a Bachelor/Master education in The Netherlands, preferably with a background in Hospitality/Event Management or other relevant education. You'll need to be enrolled in a university program for the duration of the internship.
  • You’re interested in technology and innovation
  • Intensely curious with the drive to get sh*%$t done
  • You’re organised and have great attention to detail
  • You’re a smooth communicator & collaborator (verbal & written)
  • ANY design skills is a plus
  • Have experience in Event production/management
  • Fluent in English is a must / Dutch is a bonus
  • Independent, good problem solving skills, not afraid to take initiative
