Are you motivated to support the development of strategic cross-sector partnerships and alliances to promote respect for human rights as a foundation for sustainable development? DanChurchAid (DCA) is looking for an engaged and pro-active intern to join the Private Sector Engagement Unit from February to June 2023. At DCA, we work to promote Responsible Business Conduct (RBC) principles and practices to ensure sustainable development in favour of people and planet and are looking to engage an intern to support key tasks related to project developments and human rights impact assessment components within the private sector engagement unit’s projects.

The ideal candidate:

  • Must be enrolled in a relevant university programme (bachelor or master’s level) where the internship can translate to academic credit/ECTS.
  • Has an interest in human rights, environment, business, and sustainable development within the humanitarian-development nexus.
  • Can perform high standard research and analysis on issues related to RBC, as well as support screening and project development activities.
  • Holds high proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Proficient/interested in development of tools, guides and online learning modules
  • Is motivated, curious, and enthusiastic about teamwork and multi-stakeholder collaboration.

Key Tasks

  • Undertake research and analysis in support of project developments and human rights and environmental due diligence.
  • Carry out company and sector screenings in adherence with DCA’s RBC guidelines.
  • Contribute to strategic communication, including presentations, website, SoMe and articles.
  • Support advocacy and policy work by participating in relevant events, meetings, and networking.
  • Support development of tools, guidelines and online learning platform.
  • Explore new trends and directions within sustainable business models, innovation, and learning.

We offer
A unique opportunity to gain insight into and influence DCA’s private sector engagement- and RBC work, whilst adding key competencies to your CV. During the internship, you will be a key part of the Private Sector Engagement Unit and be able draw upon DCA networks and alliances to advance academic and/or professional competencies and experiences. The internship is unpaid 20-30 hours pr. week. Depending on university requirements.
