Are you enrolled in a Master’s programme and about to undertake your thesis? Are you interested in supporting Save the Children Denmark’s (SCD) research efforts and help improve the lives of young people living in fragile contexts?
The Evidence and Learning Unit in SCD’s International Department is looking for a research intern to conduct a focused research project, ideally linked to or alongside their Master’s thesis.
You will:
- Conduct a tailored piece of research that informs our programming and advocacy ambitions around shifting power to adolescents and youth in fragile contexts. The exact topic and scope will be agreed together with the Head of Evidence & Learning;
- Support the Evidence & Learning Unit on various research activities, including supporting partners and short analyses, as needed;
- Support the uptake of research in SCD and beyond as needed and requested, possibly including helping with planning and coordinating research events.
Your professional and personal profile
- You are a Master’s student enrolled in international development studies, global health, disaster risk management, anthropology, African studies, or a similar course within the social sciences.
- You have excellent writing and communication skills.
- You have an advanced level English. French and other languages an advantage.
- You have excellent analytical skills and knowledge of research methods. Experience conducting research an advantage.
- You have strong interpersonal skills and you are capable of proactively and independently undertaking complex tasks.
Conditions and recruitment process
We are looking for an intern to start in the 2023 autumn semester, from 1st September 2023 and ending 19th January 2024, or as close to these as existing commitments allow.
The internship is unpaid.
Deadline for applications is 21st June 2023. Interviews will be conducted in the two weeks following the deadline.
