Dansk Flygtningehjælp

Internship with the Diaspora Programme

Are you interested in gaining experience in the humanitarian sector with one of the world’s largest NGOs? If you're passionate about effective communication and want hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, apply now to be our next communications intern for the fall semester.

Who are we?
The Localization Unit (LU) team considers civil society is a key driver of change. Therefore, we engage and support civil society to have the agency, space and capacity to fulfil rights of people affected by conflict and displacement. Out of the headquarters in Copenhagen, we provide strategic, analytical, and operational support to their engagement at local, regional and transnational levels. Our team also leads DRC's longstanding engagement with diaspora communities across Europe.

Why diaspora communities?
Since 2010, DRC has engaged directly with diverse diaspora communities to strengthen their engagement in countries of origin, transit and residence. We believe that diaspora actors play a vital role in humanitarian assistance, recovery and development in their countries of origin.

Currently, the Diaspora Programme within the Civil Society Engagement Unit hosts four different initiatives, touching on several thematic areas and across multiple geographies, such as Afghanistan, Somalia, Syria, Ukraine, Lebanon, etc. Find out more here
