The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Southern Denmark offers a full-time PhD position in the field of stochastic differential equations. The topic of the PhD project will be in the area of numerical analysis of stochastic differential equations including optimal control and applications in economy.

The successful candidate

  • holds a master’s degree in applied mathematics or mathematics-economics,
  • has documented experience in the fields of theory and numerical solution of partial and stochastic differential equations and corporate finance,
  • has excellent writing and oral skills in English and an ability to work independently.

The position is expected to be filled by 1 February 2025.

Application, salary etc.
Appointment as a PhD Research Fellow is for three years. Employment stops automatically at the end of the period. The holder of the scholarship is not allowed to have other paid employment during the three-year period.

The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement on salaried PhD scholars between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). Please check links for more information about salary (only available in Danish) and taxation.

The successful candidate will be enrolled at this university in accordance with faculty regulations and the Danish Ministerial Order on the PhD Programme at the Universities (PhD order).
