AAU Energy has approx. 300 employees of many nationalities, of which 25 are administrative staff. In addition, AAU Energy constantly has approx. 50-70 guest researchers from around the world.
Research and teaching are in the absolute world elite in the field of energy, and we have extensive and leading workshop and laboratory facilities, where research and innovation are carried out in direct collaboration with industry to a great extent.
Job description
The position is offered in relation to the Research Program in Hydrogen and Electrofuels. The researcher will be positioned to the section for thermal engineering. Research areas will be within the development, dynamic operation and characterization of solid oxide electrolysis systems.
It is a requirement that the candidate should have a solid background in experimental and theoretical electrochemistry.
Additionally, competencies and experience in the field of modeling, design and test of electrochemical process such as electrolyzer and fuel cell systems are also important to the position. Experiences with electrolyzer degradation study and diagnostic techniques, such as electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurement, and the operation of solid oxide systems is a plus.
The candidate should possess a relevant Ph.D. degree and have a substantial background within as well theoretical as experimental work in the abovementioned fields. The candidate will be involved in the external research project Road2X in collaboration with industry in the field of solid oxide systems. It is thus considered an advantage if the candidate has previous experience as researcher in industrial research projects.
Limited teaching assignments related to the position will primarily be supervision of students and lectures in topics such as electrochemical processes at the AAU Energy.
Qualification requirements
Appointment as an Assistant Professor presupposes scientific qualifications at PhD–level or similar scientific qualifications. The research potential of each applicant will be emphasized in the overall assessment.
Appointment as an Assistant Professor cannot exceed a period of four years in total in a temporary position(appointment at Assistant Professor level cannot exceed a period of eight years in total in Denmark).

Assessment
The assessment of candidates for the position will be carried out by qualified experts.
Shortlisting will be applied. This means that after the application deadline, the head of the department, with the assistance of the hiring committee, will select the applicants to be assessed. All applicants will be informed whether they have been shortlisted for assessment or not.
