Your role and responsibilities
Robotics Parts & Logistics is responsible for the availability and delivery of spare parts to our robot systems worldwide. There are nearly 30,000 spare parts in the offer and more than 120,000 order lines are yearly delivered from our warehouses. In today's complex supply chain networks, effective demand management is crucial for maintaining efficiency and competitiveness. This thesis aims to explore demand management practices at different supplier levels. The study will identify the challenges faced by suppliers and recommend a framework for implementing Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP). Details: • Period: Spring semester 2025 • Job type: Master Thesis 30ESTC • Number of students: Two student • Location: Department is located at Västerås and it is preferred to work from university or home with having scheduled meetings at office Research Objectives: 1. To analyze the current demand management practices at Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier levels 2. To identify key challenges faced by suppliers in managing demand 3. To propose a framework for implementing S&OP to improve demand management
Qualifications for the role
- M.Sc. student in Industrial Engineering and Management, Supply Chain Management or similar
- Strong communication and presentation skills, ability to work independently, ambitious and goal oriented
- strong verbal and written communication skills in English
