Student Assistant in Tech M&A – Transaction Services
KPMG
Are you interested in becoming part of a team of technology professionals advising on mergers and acquisitions? Do you have an investigative and inquisitive mindset to unravel complex technology matters?
In the Tech M&A team at KPMG Denmark, we are professionals with a wide variety of expertise, including software development, IT business applications, and M&A strategy. Our work is deeply embedded in the M&A process, both pre-deal and post-deal, and highly focused on technology and IT. At the core, we enable successful mergers, acquisitions, and divestments by ensuring that technology and IT supports and aligns with a specific investment thesis and strategic outlook of our clients, primarily through due diligence (DD) or integration & separation engagements.
During DD projects, we analyse IT systems, platforms, and applications to identify risks, assess scalability, and uncover opportunities. This often involves reviewing core IT infrastructures, cybersecurity setups and software architectures.
In integration and separation (I&S) projects, we guide clients through the complexities of combining IT landscapes after a merger or carving out IT systems during a divestment.
Advise clients on their acquisition goals
In a deal context, it can happen that the buyers are not technology or IT experts, or that they need a deep dive into specific topics. They need to ensure a high level of quality in technology and IT in order to have security in their deal thesis and ensure a successful transaction.
This is where we step in. With our deep knowledge of IT, technology, and M&A, we bridge the gap between our clients and the complex technical realities of their target companies.
We work with CIOs, CTOs, and IT leaders to gather key insights about a company’s IT and technology. From there, we analyze critical IT and technology areas in a structured approach that allows us to uncover key opportunities and risks, which we then formulate into detailed findings.
We are looking for a part-time student assistant with a background or strong interest in software development, software architecture and infrastructure, as well as business strategy.
What your tasks will look like:
As a student assistant in Technology M&A, you will support us and our clients in:
- IT and Tech Due Diligence: Evaluating IT infrastructure, platforms and software to identify risks, opportunities, and alignment with transaction goals.
- Integration Planning and Execution: Designing and implementing strategies for combining IT systems post-merger.
- Carve-Out Planning and Support: Developping solutions for separating IT environments during divestments while maintaining operational continuity.
- Technology Evaluation: Use your development background to assess scalability, security, and functionality of technology assets.
