Internship – Mechanical Engineer

Position
We offer you the opportunity to join FuelTech’s R&D department within the Mechanical Engineering branch, where you will gain hands-on experience in developing innovative solutions for the maritime industry. You will work with relevant codes and rules to specify, design, and validate both high- and low-pressure equipment, contributing to the development of cutting-edge systems.
Your primary work areas could be:
- Structural design and calculation according to relevant codes and rules
- Assisting in the concept phase of new products from an engineering perspective
- Cross-disciplinary work with R&D, Operations, Sales and Service
- Setting up prototypes and/or calculations subject to tests
- Specifying technical requirements concerning material selection, tolerances and performance criteria for mechanical components.
Examples of tasks could be:
- Calculate and optimize piping systems and find the most efficient path for the piping, to reduce pressure loss, while maintaining a low pipe stress
- Develop a test setup for proving theory
- Specify and find a sealing capable of withstanding 200 bar pressure in an ammonia rich environment.
The position reports to the Mechanical Engineering Manager of FuelTech, and you will have your own office space at our headquarters in Hedensted.
Your everyday work will vary with tasks and projects of different nature and sizes. You will be part of a professional, strong, and committed team with high moral, who is always ready with a helping hand whenever needed.
Professional and Personal qualifications
You are studying Mechanical Engineering. You are fluent in spoken and written Danish and English, possess good IT skills, and in addition, have a good mechanical understanding.
You are structured and good at maintaining the big overview. You have an analytical mindset and able to analyse issues. Most importantly, you are passionate about your profession and not afraid to take responsibility.
