Join a world of energy as MFT Energy's new Junior Gas Trader or Student Gas Trader
We are looking for a Junior Gas Trader and a Student Gas Trader who are ready to dive into the dynamics of the European gas market and join our ambitious gas team of experienced colleagues. Based physically in our Aarhus office, you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with the team while developing and executing trading strategies, analyzing data, and implementing automated solutions and processes.

Our Gas Team and the Job as Junior Gas Trader or Student Gas Trader in MFT Energy
As a Junior Gas Trader or Student Gas Trader in MFT Energy, you will take part in everyday trading and develop trading strategies and models for the European markets. In the gas team, we are 27 dedicated colleagues ready to welcome you and support you in your development of becoming a trader.

We do not expect you to have experience in trading, but you should have a deep desire to learn and an interest in the energy business. We will provide you with best-in-class training and guarantee a fun work environment, a steep learning curve, and a unique career within European gas trading and quantitative trading analysis.

Your key responsibilities

• Daily trading and optimization of trading positions
• Developing and implementing trading strategies
• Building and maintaining quantitative models
• Risk evaluation
• Always questioning the status quo
• Applying insight to optimize and rethink automated trading tools
• Developing projects and implementing these with support from our specialist colleagues and support teams

Your Qualifications and Personal Skills
Working as a trader involves using your analytical abilities to interpret complex market data, while maintaining a strong eye for detail and trends, and making quick, well-informed decisions under pressure. Therefore, becoming a successful trader depends not only on your professional capabilities but also on your personal competencies.

We imagine that you:

• Have or are currently studying towards a master’s degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a similar field (both for Junior and Student Gas Trader roles)
• Or have experience with stock trading, poker, or similar activities that give you relevant trading skills
• Are competitive by nature and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Are a strong team player with the ability to work independently
• Are a quick learner of complex datasets and methods
• Have excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
