Research Assistant in Transport Psychology (part time) – DTU Management

Do you want to be part of an international research team examining behaviour change? DTU Management invites applications for a 1-year position (part time) as a Research Assistant analysing qualitative interviews on life events and mobility behaviour.
In the URGENT project, we examine how people adapt their mobility behaviour in anticipation of and in response to different life events. We do this based on different quantitative and qualitative data sources – one of these are qualitative interviews with people before and after a specific life event (e.g. retirement).

As a Research Assistant in URGENT, you will be part of an ambitious international and interdisciplinary research team in the Human Behaviour Section of DTU Management’s Transportation Science Division.

Your primary tasks will be to:

• familiarize yourself with literature on the effect of specific life events on travel behaviour
• code and analyse qualitative interviews on the background of psychological theories and methods.
• contribute to academic papers aimed at high impact journals.
• communicate with study participants, help with the recruitment of new participants and the conduction of additional qualitative interviews.

You must have a two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) in Psychology or a similar degree (e.g., Sociology, Anthropology). You are ideally characterised by:

• competences and experience with the conduction, coding and analysis of qualitative interviews (e.g. as part of your master’s thesis)
• interest in mixed methods approaches
• interest in transport and mobility research and research on life events and socialisation
• Danish skills at the level of a native speaker
• strong English communication and interpersonal skills
• ability to work both independently and as part of an international team
• strong skills in the organisation of activities and willingness to support project management and administration tasks

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

The period of employment is 1 year. Starting day is 1 May 2025 (or according to mutual agreement).

One position is a part-time with 20 hours per week and the other position can be filled part-time or full-time (by agreement).
