Great! Our security team is growing as we strengthen IT Security across Bavarian Nordic, and we’re looking for an IT Security Specialist to help safeguard our data, systems, and processes. You’ll join a team who is responsible for global security assessment processes, adherence to our security quality system, and meeting regulatory requirements in close collaboration with stakeholders. We’re still in a consolidation phase, and you’ll have the opportunity to influence and shape your role.

Your profile
To support our vision of becoming one of the largest pure-play vaccine companies in the world, we seek a candidate who is determined to contribute to this ambition and bring the following qualifications:

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience working in IT security or IT compliance

• Experience with IT compliance in a highly regulated industry (e.g. Life Science, MedTech or Pharma)

• Relevant certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISA, CISM) are an advantage

• Working knowledge of key industry security standards and frameworks (e.g. ISO, SOC 2, NIST)

• Experience with implementing IT compliance strategies

• Proficiency in Danish and English, both spoken and written

You thrive on driving initiatives with line of business and system owners, balancing routine tasks with project work. You are structured, positive, and service-minded, with a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently as the go-to expert in your field.

Key responsibilities

• Execute security assessments to identify, protect, and secure IT systems, including

• Business Impact Analysis (BIA)

• IT Maturity assessment

• IT security risk assessments

• Vendor IT risk assessments

• Maintain and update security data in our inventory system in collaboration with process owner

• Facilitate Scrum and DevOps stand-up meeting

• Deliver security training and awareness campaigns

• Participate in security projects with IT and Line of business

Our IT security team

Our IT department consists of nearly 70 dedicated colleagues across Denmark, the US, Switzerland, and Germany, covering all aspects of IT Development & Operation.

You’ll join our IT Security team within Global IT, which currently consists of two IT security specialists and a student assistant, making you the third dedicated security specialist on the team. You will report to the Director of ITO and IT security, and your primary location will be in our headquarters in Hellerup, Denmark.
