Frontend Engineer (Student) in Channels Corporates

Danske Bank is seeking a student worker to support front-end development for the Channels Corporates area. You will contribute to District, a platform that connects financial information and solutions from multiple providers, giving businesses clearer insight and a smoother workday. Our area is composed of motivated people who share a common goal of pushing the boundaries of banking and shaping the future of financial services across our markets.

Curiosity, drive and intelligence
As a member of our area, you will learn from experienced developers and contribute to building a scalable, robust and user-centred web experience. You will work collaboratively with developers, architects, UX designers and business colleagues to incrementally deliver value. Our front end uses modern technologies such as React.js and TypeScript, with Node.js tooling.

The role
This part-time role is designed to fit alongside your studies. You will collaborate closely with team members to develop solutions that combine efficiency and simplicity. You will contribute clean, maintainable code, help improve our agile practices, and support feature development, bug fixing and quality improvements. Your work will help hundreds of thousands of finance professionals and business owners view their financial information in one place and make better decisions.

A typical day as a student worker starts with a daily alignment. You will pick up tasks suited to your skills, pair program when helpful, and participate in code reviews. Features are iteratively developed and continuously integrated into our pipeline. Across the week, agile ceremonies are held to plan upcoming work through sprint grooming and planning. Retrospectives conclude the sprint and help us improve our ways of working.

Main activities

• Develop and maintain front-end components using React and TypeScript
• Translate designs and UX specifications into functional interfaces
• Fix bugs, write unit tests and improve documentation
• Collaborate with developers to design and implement new features
• Support accessibility and performance improvements
• Learn and explore new development trends and work with modern web technologies
• Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to a positive team culture

About you

• Currently studying Computer Science, Information Science, Software Development or a related field
• Good general understanding of front-end technologies, especially TypeScript and React, gained through coursework or personal projects
• Familiar with Git and NPM
• Motivated to learn, communicative, approachable and solution minded
• Experience with C# and .NET Core is a plus, not a requirement
• Able to work part-time alongside your studies
