Do you want to work in a dedicated team that provides analytics, insights and decision support? Then join us as our new Commodity Insights Student Assistant at Coop Trading A/S (20-25 hours a week).

As a Commodity Insights Student Assistant, you will become a part of the Commodity Insights team which is placed in our procurement department.
Today, the Commodity Insights Team consists of two dedicated colleagues and a student assistant. Our current student assistant has decided to do military service and therefore we are looking for a new colleague.

Our Commodity Insights Team ensures analysis, insights and advice to our Procurement Specialist & Developers within the development of raw material prices to ensure competitive prices. You will work with a wide range of raw materials, as our portfolio of private label products covers everything from salmon, oatmeal to cheese and toilet paper.

Your primary tasks:
• Analysis and monitoring of the commodity market and providing recommendations
• Preparation of decision support for our Procurement Specialist & Developers – including sparring with Procurement Specialist & Developers about purchase times, contract lengths, etc.
• Participating as support for Procurement Specialist & Developers on supplier meetings and on internal pricing meetings
• Validate prices and price changes from our suppliers in cooperation with Procurement specialist & Developers
• Development and maintenance of commodity models and factor price modelling to support colleagues in their negotiations as well as development of cost avoidance and risk management strategies
• Projects with focus on developing our capabilities within pricing excellence, consumer insights and/or market insights

To succeed in the role, we imagine that you:
• Are a student on a higher education programme in economics or similar
• Have strong analytical skills and can handle complex issues as well as large amounts of data
• Are structured and methodical
• Are an expert in Excel and with a good understanding of speech
• Have solid English skills (written and oral)
• Are eager to acquire new skills and share knowledge with your colleagues
• Can both work independently and be part of a team where sparring is an important part of everyday life
• Are a problem solver and you ensure that things get done
