We are looking for
Research Assistant in Application of Large Language Models for Transportation and Mobility

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support a research project examining the societal applications of Large Language Models (LLMs) in transportation and mobility. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge work at the intersection of artificial intelligence and mobility studies, with a strong focus on sustainability, digital inclusion, and data-driven policy development.

Work duties

  • Conduct literature reviews on travel behavior analysis.
  • Assist with expert interview, data collection and data preparation and processing.
  • Support the co-design, development, validation, and evaluation of conceptual and analytical frameworks for the use of LLMs.
  • Analyze and synthesize both qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Contribute to the writing of scientific reports, position papers, and academic publications.
  • Participate in research meetings and support dissemination activities.

Qualifications
Specific requirements for this position:

  • Master’s degree or Last semester Master student in Urban Studies, Urban Planning, Transportation Planning or closely related field.
  • Documented previous knowledge about spatial analysis, GIS and Python regarding urban and regional planning
  • Documented experience of working with urban and regional policies and qualitative data.
  • Documented experience of working with transport related data and transport related research.

The following would be of benefit for the position:

  • Experience and interest in academic writing.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written.

In addition to formal competence, University employees must possess the personal capacities necessary to perform the duties of the position well and to represent the University in the best possible way.
