Student Assistant in Human Resources at MB Shipbrokers
MB Shipbrokers
Human Resources Student Assistant
Are you curious about a future career in Human Resources and looking to gain practical experience alongside your studies? Would you like to work with HR operations, recruitment, onboarding, and employee-related processes in an international shipbroking company?
MB Shipbrokers is a global shipbroking company with more than a century of experience in the maritime industry. Formerly known as Maersk Broker, we combine a strong heritage with a modern, international approach to shipbroking. Today, more than 250 colleagues across our global offices work together to support clients in a dynamic and fast-moving industry.
At MB Shipbrokers, we are looking for a structured and service-minded HR Student Assistant to join our Human Resources team in Copenhagen.
What we offer
As our new HR Student Assistant, you will become part of a small, international HR team working across Copenhagen and Hong Kong. You will work closely with our HR Business Partner and Head of HR in Copenhagen and gain hands-on experience with both operational and administrative HR tasks.
You will get broad insight into how HR supports the business in an international and fast-paced industry, while also contributing to important processes within recruitment, onboarding, HR reporting, employee administration and internal communication.
Although shipping is a busy industry, we recognise the importance of life outside of work and are committed to promoting balance and a strong sense of community. We offer flexible working hours, weekly workout sessions, access to padel courts, and various social events throughout the year.
Our Copenhagen office is conveniently located close to Østerport Station, the city and the sea. We also have changing facilities and our own canteen serving freshly prepared food every day.
The role
As HR Student Assistant, you will support the HR team in daily HR operations and recruitment processes. The role will give you the opportunity to work with a broad range of HR tasks and to develop a solid understanding of how an HR function operates in practice.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Updating HR data and maintaining our HRM system
· Preparing monthly HR reports and supporting annual management reporting
· Assisting with recruitment processes, including screening candidates, inviting candidates for interviews and sending test links
· Supporting the onboarding process for new employees
· Providing regular information to Payroll and IT
· Preparing employment contracts, addenda, resignation letters and other HR documents
· Supporting internal HR processes, communication and smaller HR-related projects
· Handling general administrative tasks related to HR operations
Who we are looking for
You are currently studying at bachelor’s level or starting your master’s degree this autumn, for example at CBS or another relevant educational institution. Your studies may be within Business Administration, Human Resource Management or another relevant field.
We imagine that you are analytical, structured and solution-oriented. You enjoy working independently, but you also appreciate being part of a team and interacting with colleagues across departments and levels. You are comfortable with recurring monthly tasks and understand the importance of accuracy, confidentiality and service in an HR function.
We are looking for someone who:
· Has a genuine interest in HR operations and recruitment
· Is service-minded, proactive and able to work efficiently in a busy environment
· Has a structured approach and strong attention to detail
· Is able to prioritise tasks and follow processes
· Has solid IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) - experience with SharePoint is an advantage

· Communicates fluently in Danish and English, both written and spoken
