AIV Intern – Help build satellites that launch into orbit

GomSpace A/S

Are you a hands-on engineering student eager to gain real experience with space hardware?

Do you want to contribute to building and testing satellites while learning from experienced engineers and technicians? Join our AIV (Assembly, Integration & Verification) team and become part of real space missions.

Your Role
You’ll work in our Satellite Assembly, Integration, and Verification (AIV) team, supporting the hands-on build and testing of satellite systems.

As an intern, you will work alongside engineers and technicians in a production environment, gaining practical experience with hardware, tools, and processes used in space system development. You will contribute to day-to-day operations while learning how satellites are assembled, integrated, and verified before launch.

Your tasks include:

  • Assisting in the assembly and integration of mechanical and electronic components for satellite platforms
  • Supporting functional testing and preparation for environmental tests (e.g. vibration, thermal vacuum)
  • Helping set up and maintain tools, equipment, and test setups
  • Supporting troubleshooting and daily build activities together with engineers
  • Documenting procedures, test results, and non-conformances

What You Bring
You’re a motivated student with a strong interest in working hands-on with hardware and learning how complex systems are built and tested. You are curious, structured, and eager to learn in a fast-paced engineering environment.

You likely:

  • Are currently enrolled in an engineering degree (e.g. electronics, mechatronics, aerospace, or similar)
  • Are confident working hands-on with hardware or eager to develop these skills
  • Understand how basic electrical or mechanical systems function (an advantage, but not required)
  • Communicate clearly and work well with others in a team environment
  • Thrive on gaining practical experience and contributing to real engineering work

Who You Are
You’re not just an intern—you’re an active contributor to the team. You take initiative, support your colleagues, and are eager to learn by doing.

You bring:

  • Helpfulness – you support teammates and contribute where needed
  • Open communication – you’re transparent, proactive, and follow up on tasks
  • Ownership – you take responsibility for your work and learn from feedback
  • Structure & clarity – you follow procedures carefully and pay attention to detail
  • Curiosity – you are eager to learn and understand how things work

You’re motivated, hands-on, and interested in space technology. You enjoy working in a structured production environment and are excited to contribute to building real satellites.

Why Join Us?
At GomSpace, we’re on a mission to shape the future of space – one mission at a time. Here, you’ll be part of something bigger than just a project or a product. You’ll help build systems that connect people, enable science, and expand humanity’s reach beyond Earth.

We believe the best results come when talented people are trusted, supported, and inspired to push boundaries together.

Here’s why you’ll love working with us:

  • Be part of a global company making a real impact in the space industry
