Student Assistant - Financial Services Advisory

KPMG

Are you looking to gain hands-on experience in the consulting industry alongside your studies? Are you a structured problem-solver who thrives when working with data, processes, and coordination across stakeholders? And would you like to support Danish and Nordic Financial Services companies indirectly by enabling a skilled advisory team? You’ve come to the right place.

In Financial Services Advisory (FSA), we assist financial institutions – from banks and insurance companies to pension funds and capital markets – in navigating complex regulatory environments, managing risks, and advancing their digital capabilities. Every project depends on efficient internal operations, accurate reporting, and well-organized processes, and that is where you make a difference.

Your role in the team
As a part-time Student Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the FSA team. You will work closely with consultants and leadership, contributing across client and team support, research and analysis, digital tools and reporting, sales and proposal support, as well as internal coordination and operational processes. While your primary focus will be within these areas, additional tasks may arise depending on team needs and ongoing initiatives.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Support operational excellence across the FSA team, including governance, capacity management, pipeline tracking, and selected client-related activities
  • Deliver research, data analysis, and reporting to support decision-making, performance management, and strategic initiatives
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, trackers, and management reporting while ensuring data quality and accuracy
  • Prepare client and leadership materials, support business development efforts, and contribute to knowledge sharing and process improvements across the team

Perks of joining our team
Our team consists of 50+ colleagues working across the Nordic financial services sector. As a student assistant, you will become an integrated part of the team:

  • We are close to the business: You will work closely with leadership and gain insight into how a consulting business operates
  • We are data-driven: You will work with real business data and support internal decision-making
  • We are collaborative: You will engage with stakeholders across functions and seniority levels
  • We are supportive: You will develop your skills through continuous feedback and guidance

About you, our newest team member
We do not expect you to know everything from day one, but the following will help you thrive in the role:

  • You are currently studying (e.g. business, finance, economics, law or similar)
  • You are structured and detail-oriented with a clear sense of ownership
  • You are comfortable working in Excel (experience with Power BI is an advantage)
  • You are proactive and comfortable following up with stakeholders
  • You are curious and motivated to learn about consulting and the financial sector

Looking to start your career alongside your studies?
At KPMG, you will join a flexible and supportive environment that allows you to balance your studies with meaningful, hands-on work experience. This role provides a solid foundation for a future career within consulting or the financial sector.
