ASCENDIS PHARMA A/S
Are you curious by nature, strong in relationship-building, and guided by a human-centered mindset? Do you want to apply those skills within written communications, visual storytelling and facilitation to kickstart your career in a fast-growing biotech company?
If so, now is your chance to join Ascendis Pharma as our new Student Assistant.
Ascendis Pharma is a global biopharmaceutical company committed to making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives. Guided by our core values of Patients, Science, and Passion, we are applying our innovative TransCon® technology platform to fulfill our mission of developing new therapies that demonstrate best-in-class potential to address unmet medical needs.
At our headquarters in Hellerup, Denmark, research facilities in Heidelberg, Germany, and additional offices across Europe and the United States, we are advancing programs in our Endocrinology Rare Disease and Oncology portfolios. We also collaborate with partners on the development of TransCon-based products in other therapeutic areas and markets.
We are seeking a passionate Student Assistant to join our digital delivery and change competency area in Global IT. In this role, you will help people adapt to new ways of working with IT solutions, such as new systems, processes, or tools. For example, when rolling out a new payroll system, change management includes training employees, communicating what’s changing and why, and supporting employees so they can confidently start using the new system in their daily work.
You will be based in Hellerup, Denmark and joining the tight-knit, autonomous and resourceful User Adoption team consisting of 7 colleagues. When relevant, you will be supporting activities in adjacent teams in the fields of facilitation, user experience, design thinking, and project delivery. We see our student assistants as an integrated part of our team. You will be trusted with responsibility and a broad mandate, with plenty of room to shape how tasks are approached and solved.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Creating excellent visual communication content, conveying the relevant information to the audience
- Developing training material, e.g. as e-learning courses or step-by-step guides which will help end-users navigate new or updated IT systems
- Collaborating with team members to design and prepare engaging workshops, including: agenda setting, creating workshop materials, and logistics
- Facilitating or co-facilitating workshop sessions, capturing workshop outcomes, and supporting workshop follow-up actions
- Helping your colleagues with ad hoc tasks, e.g. building information sites (e.g. on SharePoint) for end-users to find information on IT solutions
Qualifications and Skills:
Ideally, you are starting your third year of your Bachelor studies or the first year of your Master’s studies in the fields of Change Management, User Experience Design, Project Management, Business Administration, Digital Health, or something completely different. You are proficient in English at a professional level, both written and spoken.
Furthermore, you:
- Communicate clearly in PowerPoint, with the ability to structure presentations and create engaging layouts, graphic designs and diagrams
- Write concisely and persuasively in English
- Thrive in a project-based environment, juggling multiple tasks while keeping a clear overview and staying on top of priorities
As a person, you are
- Curious, people-oriented, and naturally drawn to understanding how others think, work, and adapt
- Able to work independently and can run with a task with minimal supervision
- A self-starter, a do-er and not afraid to learn from your mistakes
- Comfortable facilitating groups of varying sizes (e.g., up to 100) in person and online - or up for learning and practicing these skills
- Conscientious and proactive about your tasks to meet deadlines
Hours: 15-20 hours per week. We want you to be able to balance your studies and work responsibilities and therefore offer flexibility during exam periods.
