YOUR TEAM
You will be an integral part of a dynamic team within the Merchandising Solutions department, a group of more than 20 data and AI enthusiasts driving the merchandising agenda at BESTSELLER. Our focus is not only on delivering unmatched value to our end consumers but also on maintaining the highest standards of customer satisfaction and quality. You will join a product team of highly skilled professionals, all committed to harnessing the power of data to enhance customer experiences, streamline operations, and drive revenue growth.
YOUR NEW ROLE
As a Student Assistant, you will support the team in building and operating the data products and applications behind Appretio. You will work on clearly defined tasks alongside data engineers, application developers, and data scientists, gaining hands-on experience with a modern, cloud-based data and AI platform. You will be given real responsibility, combined with the mentorship and guidance needed to help you develop your skills along the way.
We expect you to work approximately 15–20 hours per week during the semester, with flexibility around exam periods.
Your typical responsibilities may include:
- Supporting the development and maintenance of data pipelines and integrations
- Helping build, test, and document features in our AI applications
- Assisting with data quality checks, monitoring, and small automation tasks
- Contributing to internal tooling and exploring new technologies with the team

YOUR PROFILE
You are a structured, curious, and proactive student who enjoys learning quickly and working alongside experienced colleagues. You enjoy exploring technical solutions, take pride in delivering high-quality work, and are comfortable communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
We imagine that you have:
- Enrolment in a relevant degree programme, such as Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Some programming experience, ideally in Python and/or SQL
- An interest in data engineering, AI applications, and cloud technologies
- A willingness to learn, take ownership of your tasks, and develop your skills
- Strong communication skills in English
The following qualifications are considered an advantage:
- Exposure to Git, CI/CD, or cloud environments (AWS or Azure)
- Familiarity with data pipelines, web application frameworks, or modern data warehousing
- An interest in agentic development workflows and tooling
- Previous project, internship, or personal experience building software or working with data
