This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in upstream process development while contributing to the evaluation and implementation of new technologies.

The Department
The Early-Stage Process Development department plays a key role in bringing new therapies from concept to patients.

The department consists of interdisciplinary teams where upstream, downstream, and analytical scientists collaborate closely to achieve project goals.

As part of the Technology Adoption & Innovation team, you will contribute to evaluating and implementing new technologies that support pharmaceutical process development.

The Role
As an Upstream Laboratory Technician Intern, you will gain practical experience with mammalian cell culture processes ranging from shake flasks to bioreactors. • Perform seed train and production runs in shake flasks, single-use CultiBags, and 5L glass bioreactors, with the opportunity to work with the AMBR®250 system and pilot-scale bioreactors.
  • Conduct routine sampling and monitor in-process parameters, including: Cell density and viability (Cedex), pH, Metabolites, Gas analysis (FLEX2)
  • Prepare media and feeds.
  • Support harvest preparation and sample logistics for Downstream Processing and Analytical teams.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELN) and paper-based batch records.
  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and basic troubleshooting of upstream equipment.

Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for a curious and motivated laboratory technician student with an interest in mammalian cell culture and bioprocess development.

You enjoy working in a laboratory environment, are eager to learn, and thrive in a collaborative setting. You have a positive and proactive mindset, pay attention to detail, and take ownership of your work while contributing positively to the team.

We Expect That You

  • Have completed, or expect to complete, the theoretical part of the Danish Laboratory Technician (Laborant) education before the internship begins.
  • Have good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Are adaptable, structured, and detail-oriented.
  • Enjoy working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
