Student Assistant

Hempel A/S

Are you our Legal Team's next Student Assistant?
We are looking for an ambitious and curious Student Assistant to join the Legal team at Hempel A/S. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an international legal function and work closely with experienced legal professionals on real business matters.

As part of the team, you will contribute to corporate legal work supporting Hempel's subsidiaries around the world, gaining valuable insight into corporate governance, company law, compliance, and the day-to-day legal challenges of a global company. The role offers significant responsibility, exposure to international stakeholders, and an opportunity to gain valuable experience for a future legal career.

Hempel’s Legal team is a global team currently consisting of 11 colleagues located in 6 countries supporting the entire Hempel Group. You will be located in the head office in Lyngby together with 4 dedicated legal colleagues. We have a friendly and inclusive culture.

What will your key responsibilities be?
You will be supporting our Legal team with primarily corporate matters and will be working on a wide range of tasks, such as:

  • Reviewing corporate documents to ensure that they meet our internal procedures
  • Supporting maintenance of company data for our companies around the world
  • Handling Know Your Clients requests and ownership registrations
  • Obtaining signatures on documents from internal stakeholders
  • Arranging for various types of legalisations of documents in the Copenhagen area
  • Other relevant ad hoc and legal tasks, depending on your academic background

No prior legal experience is required, as we will introduce you to the tasks and give you the relevant training, so you will be able to complete the tasks.

We will also be giving you specific areas of responsibilities, assigning you ownership of particular tasks, so you will have the chance to work independently in this job. The suggested working hours are 15 hours per week and can be arranged to fit with your classes and exam periods.

What do we look for in you?
We are looking for a student at bachelor’s level who will thrive with the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Hold a valid driver’s license
  • Have a structured and thorough approach to your work, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Are comfortable working with different IT tools and systems.
  • Communicate fluently in written and spoken English.
  • Are proactive, reliable, and able to work independently, taking ownership of your tasks and responsibilities.
  • Have a genuine interest in corporate law, international business, and learning how an in-house legal function operates in practice.
  • Enjoy collaborating with colleagues across different cultures and jurisdictions while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

We would love to hear from you if you fit with the above and are interested in working in our Legal team. We especially encourage applications from law or business law students, but students from all fields of study are welcome to apply.

What do we offer?
We offer more than just a student job. At Hempel, you will gain valuable practical experience to complement your studies, a supportive team that invests in your growth, exposure to international corporate legal work, and a real say in meaningful projects.
