The position
The position as part-time lecturer will consist of independent teaching and lectures in the fields of Visual Communication and Graphic Design, as well as Strategic Design and Entrepreneurship, at both Master's and Bachelor's levels.

The role primarily involves supervising design project development, delivering lectures, facilitating workshops, examining students at examinations and other tests, and assessing coursework and examinations.

As a part-time lecturer, you are expected to contribute knowledge, professional experience, and industry insight from your practice across the above-mentioned fields in a broad sense.

Your duties will also include:

  • contributing to the development and evaluation of educational activities
  • planning and correcting assignments – both as part of ongoing teaching and in connection with examinations
  • participating in interdisciplinary teaching
  • supervising students and interdisciplinary student groups
  • participating in critiques.

You may be required to undertake other duties to a limited extent and to take part in teachers’ meetings, study trips and assessments as specifically agreed.

We offer a creative, engaged, developmental, and visionary educational and research environment.

We place great emphasis on strong collegial collaboration with space for mutual inspiration and professional exchange.

Qualifications
You have a relevant educational background at a minimum of Master’s level.

Ideally, you hold a Master's degree in Visual Communication / Graphic Design, or a related design discipline and have subsequently gained relevant professional experience in one or more of the following areas: strategic design, entrepreneurship, business development, critical design, or speculative design.

Alternatively, you can document equivalent competencies at Master’s level through extended education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and professional experience within the relevant fields.

In addition, you must have relevant high-level professional, practical experience that has not been obtained through an academic appointment. You must possess in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of the field’s practical applications acquired through professional employment.

It is also expected that you:

  • have several years of teaching experience at both bachelor’s and master’s level, preferably within the subject area of the position
  • have experience planning teaching programs and courses
  • possess professional experience, insight, and knowledge within design — both in relation to the subject area of the position and to the design discipline more generally.
  • are excellent in written and spoken English, as our Master’s programmes are taught in English.

In the overall assessment for appointment to this position, particular importance will be attached to an excellent track record in innovative teaching. Examiner experience and completion of the Danish one-year postgraduate teacher training diploma course (pædagogikum) or other upgrading of your teaching skills will also be an advantage.

Communication experience is considered an advantage, as is the ability to relate your field of expertise to sustainability issues in a broad sense.

Salary and terms of employment
The salary is 314,49 DKK per hour at the current salary level (August 1, 2026). Holiday allowance is provided in addition to the hourly pay. The holiday allowance is 12.5% of the hourly pay and is paid into the national holiday fund Feriekonto. A qualification allowance will be negotiable, depending on your skills and experience.

The teaching hours will be minimum 100 hours per year. In the period from 1 October 2026 to 31 January 2027 the teaching hours will be 50 hours. The number of teaching hours for the coming years is not yet known, but after the expiry of the first period, the number of teaching hours will be agreed upon one year at a time and is typically announced in December. The number of hours may not exceed 500 hours annually.

The academic year runs from 1 September to 30 June of the following year. Preparation work during the month of August should be expected.
