Scope of the Thesis
- Exploration of novel surface-treatment and functionalization methods for technical textiles
- Benchmarking new approaches against currently used textile-treatment methods
- Evaluating rubber-to-textile adhesion using strap-peel testing
- Characterization of treated textiles and rubber-textile interfaces using analytical methods such as FTIR, SEM, TGA, DSC, and EDX
- Elucidation of the underlying chemical, physical, and mechanical adhesion mechanisms
About the Ideal Candidate
The candidate should be pursuing a Master’s degree in:
- Chemical Engineering/Material Science
- A related discipline
and will have strengths in:
- Applying analytical methods for material characterization
- Independently planning, conducting, and evaluating laboratory test series
- Connecting analytical findings with rubber-to-textile adhesion performance
Previous experience with technical textiles, surface treatments and elastomers is advantageous.
Work Location and Flexibility
On-site presence is required for experimental laboratory work. Data analysis, literature review, documentation, and thesis writing may be performed remotely, subject to agreement with the supervisor.
