Part-time External Relations & Ecosystem Associate - DTU Space

Danmarks Tekniske Universitet

Help grow Denmark's space ecosystem — nationally and across Europe
Are you motivated by building relationships, telling good stories, and spotting connections others miss? As Student Assistant for External Relations & Ecosystem at DTU Space Ventures, you will support our outward-facing work, helping grow our network of startups, companies, and partners in Denmark and across the Nordics and Europe.

Hosted by DTU Space Ventures in Lyngby, you would support ESA BIC Denmark and ESA Technology Broker Denmark in helping Danish companies harness commercial space opportunities, from turning non-space technologies into space solutions (spin-in) to bringing space tech down to Earth (spin-off).

We are looking for a curious, proactive student who wants hands-on experience with external communications and ecosystem building alongside their studies. You will help manage our channels, support event organisation, and assist in connecting Danish innovators with the wider European space ecosystem.

The job
Key responsibilities

  • Digital Presence:
Independently plan, create, and manage content and strategy across social media, other channels, and the website. Deciding what to post, when, and how it should be framed to grow the initiative's visibility and reputation.

• Networking & Events: Independently plan and lead outreach activities end-to-end (workshops, pitch events, delegation visits, conference presence) including the operational and strategic decisions involved.

• Ecosystem Growth: Independently build and develop external relationships with counterparts, clusters, and companies nationally and internationally: identifying who to engage, initiating contact, and deciding how and when to follow up or escalate.

• Technology Scouting: Independently research and assess potential technology transfers (spin-in and spin-off) across sectors like manufacturing, agriculture, health, and climate.
• Innovation & Ideation: Independently generate and shape new projects, formats, and collaborations that strengthen Denmark's position in the European space innovation landscape, in collaboration with the center leader.
• Case Studies & Storytelling: Independently develop case studies and content that showcase portfolio companies' progress and impact.

• Network Collaboration: Represent Denmark within the pan-European ESA BIC/Technology Broker network. Representing our position and co-developing joint initiatives with other national nodes.

Our expectations of you

  • Currently enrolled as a student at a university, pursuing a relevant degree: communications, business, innovation management, marketing, engineering, or a space-related field.
  • Interest or experience in social media/content management.
  • Strong relationship-building skills; comfortable reaching out and following up.
  • An interest in technology scouting and matching non-space challenges with space-derived solutions (or vice versa).
  • A proactive, curious mindset.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Experience with Danish or Nordic innovation ecosystems is an advantage.
  • Interest in the space sector.

What we offer in return

  • A front-row seat in Denmark's growing space economy, with exposure to ESA's pan-European network.
  • Real ownership over specific tasks within our external communications and outreach.
  • A collaborative, purpose-driven environment at DTU Space Ventures.
  • Flexible student-friendly hours (15 hours/week) alongside your studies.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC).

The position is 15 hours/week - flexible student-friendly hours, alongside your studies.
