Your role as a Trainee - Maintenance Development Engineer
You will join the Maintenance Technology team, where we work to continuously improve and equipment reliability at Forsmark Nuclear Power Plant. In this role, you will contribute to investigations of equipment performance, root cause analysis, condition assessments, and the development of preventive maintenance strategies for critical systems and components. You will collaborate with experienced engineers in mechanical, process, and maintenance disciplines while exploring how data and analysis can be used to better understand equipment performance and support maintenance decisions. This is an opportunity to develop experience in nuclear engineering and asset management while bringing a fresh perspective how data-driven methods and new technologies can help shape the future of safe, reliable, and fossil-free energy production.
Qualifications
Your qualifications as a Trainee - Maintenance Development Engineer
- You have a university degree in engineering or another relevant technical field.
- You are fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written, and have a professional working proficiency in English.
- Previous experience in a technical environment, for example through internships, summer jobs or part-time work, is considered an advantage.
- You hold a valid Category B driver's licence.

You take initiative, understand the importance of high-quality documentation and traceability and enjoy solving complex problems in a structured and analytical way. To be considered for our traineeship, you should:
- Have completed, or expect to complete, an academic degree before the programme starts in March 2027
- Have no more than one year of relevant work experience after graduation, excluding internships and working-student roles
- Be fluent in English
- Be available for the full-time programme from its start date
- Have the right to work in the country where the position is based, or meet the stated work-permit requirements
- Be open to mobility opportunities and collaborating across different locations.

Additional Information
Location: You will be working in the Maintenance Development and Cross-Functional Engineering department and be located in Forsmark/Östhammar, Sweden.
At Forsmark, we apply a hybrid way of working when business needs allow. At the same time, this role requires a regular presence on site and close collaboration with colleagues across the organisation. Therefore, it is important that you are motivated to work in Forsmark and have the possibility to commute to the site.
Bus services to and from Forsmark are adapted to the working hours of day-shift employees. We also offer commuter buses with wireless internet between Gävle-Forsmark and Uppsala-Forsmark, allowing you to use travel time as working time when your tasks permit.
