We are looking for a Junior Research Scientist, and a Research Scientist, to join us in creating "Technology for a better society".

About us

Together with our industry partners, we deliver applied research to uncover new knowledge and solutions that contribute to sustainable value creation, improved resource utilization and new market opportunities.

  • The Analytics and AI group
is currently counting 11 researchers and 2 PhD students. We do research and development of methods for application of AI and machine learning in industrial systems. In particular, we specialise in:
  • The combination of machine learning and other system information, such as mathematical models.
  • The combination of machine learning and optimization/planning, including reinforcement learning and model predictive control.
  • Machine learning for dynamic systems such as state estimation, anomaly detection, and predictive maintenance.
  • Industrial application of machine learning. Some examples of applications are the development of automated warehouse robots, decision support in wastewater treatment, hybrid models of wind turbines, and improved coordination of road construction machinery.

As a researcher in our group, you will join a dynamic team of talented and creative colleagues with a passion for technology. We actively collaborate with both academic environments and industrial end users. The group has a central role in two of the new Norwegian AI research centers: Norwegian Center on AI for Decisions, and Trust, as well as SFI NorwAI.

  • at least three of the following
    :

    • Agentic AI and agentic programming.
    • Modelling physical or industrial systems.
    • Control systems and model predictive control.
    • Statistical inference and uncertainty quantification of AI models.
    • Machine learning on sensor data and multi-modal data.
    • Industrial deployment machine learning or agentic AI in operational systems.
  • You have documented experience with programming, preferably in Python, and familiarity with machine learning and data science frameworks like PyTorch, JAX, Hydra, MLflow, and pandas or similar alternatives.
