As part of Formulation Development, you will work in a highly engaged, multicultural, and cross-functional agile team focused on developing enzyme and protein liquid products and their associated production processes. Working closely with colleagues across fermentation, recovery, formulation, production, marketing, application, and R&D, you will contribute to bringing new technologies and products from concept to commercialization while supporting and continuously improving our existing portfolio.

The Role & Your Impact
As a Research Scientist, you will play a key role in developing innovative liquid enzyme and protein formulations that deliver value to customers and support Novonesis' growth. This role combines scientific expertise, hands-on laboratory work, innovation, and project leadership, allowing you to contribute across the full development lifecycle from early-stage concept development to commercial scale-up.

You will apply your scientific curiosity to deepen our understanding of enzyme and protein formulations and translate that knowledge into practical solutions. Working closely with colleagues across multiple functions, you will drive projects forward, support production and customers, and help bring new technologies and products to market.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

• Master's degree or PhD in Physical Chemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.
• Strong passion for applying fundamental science to solve real-world challenges.
• Ability to translate scientific insights into practical and commercially relevant solutions.
• Experience planning, designing, and executing scientific experiments.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Motivation to take ownership, drive progress, and contribute to project leadership.
• Ability to thrive in a cross-functional and international environment.
• Appreciation for close collaboration with laboratory technicians and scientific colleagues.

Additional Skills & Interests We Value
Experience with protein stability studies or formulation development would be an advantage, as would an interest in product scale-up, manufacturing processes, customer support, or digital and data-driven development approaches. These experiences are not required but may help you create value more quickly in the role.

Ways of Working
This position is based in Bagsværd, Copenhagen, Denmark. We work in an office-first environment with flexibility to work from home when appropriate. The role also includes occasional collaboration from other Novonesis sites in the Copenhagen area and close interaction with colleagues across functions and geographies.
