At Nitor Energy, software isn’t a support function – it’s at the core of how we trade. You’ll join our software team and help build the tools and systems that traders and analysts use every day. You’ll get meaningful responsibility early, support from experienced developers and hands-on exposure to a fast-moving business, with the opportunity to grow into a full-time role.

As a student, you’ll be part of these conversations, learning to ask good questions, test ideas, get feedback quickly and see the impact of your work.

What you’ll be doing

• Build and improve internal trading systems, analytical tools, dashboards and alerts alongside experienced developers.
• Integrate, process and make market data available from external vendors.
• Take on well-scoped development tasks, from understanding requirements to implementation, testing, review and deployment.
• Work directly with traders and analysts to understand their workflows, gather feedback and iterate on solutions.
• Learn what it takes to build reliable, maintainable software – including shared data models, traceability, performance and system operations.
• Explore approved AI-assisted development tools responsibly and verify the code and outputs you use.

What we’re looking for

• You’re studying for a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, with no more than a year remaining, and are interested in a potential full-time future at Nitor.
• You have good programming fundamentals and a practical, curious approach to solving problems.
• You’ve had exposure to some of our stack – C# (.NET/ASP.NET Core), TypeScript/React, Microsoft SQL, Azure or Python – or are motivated to learn it. You don’t need experience with all of them.
• You enjoy working with others, communicate openly, ask for help when needed and learn from feedback.
• You take responsibility for your tasks, follow through and look for ways to make things better.
